Our local consists of workers form different backgrounds, skill sets, education levels, race, religion, etc.  There are approximately 50 permanent and 70 non-permanent staff.  We all work together to secure benefits and rights in the workplace.  “We are a UNION” and “We are CUPE Local 882”!!!!!

CUPE 882 members work hard to provide the residents of Prince Albert with quality public service.

CUPE 882 members keep the City of Prince Albert running. They help you pay your bills, stay safe at pools and playgrounds, and support crucial city operations.

• We are the ones serving you with a smile at every City concession.
• We are the ones booking your birthday parties, your sports fields, your community events, and any outdoor special event that is taking place in City green space and parks.
• We are the ones on the other side of the phone hearing your concerns and making sure that your voice is reaching who it needs to.
• We are the ones providing endless and tireless support to management, Council, out-of-scope staff and fellow co-workers.
• We are the ones teaching you how to swim, and making sure you’re safe at our pools during public swimming and all scheduled aquatics programs.
• We are your contacts, issuers and processors for all payments and billing for the City Of Prince Albert.
• We are your City Planners.
• We are the ones providing you with your bus tickets, bus passes and parking permits.
• We are the City’s Assessment team.
• We are the students and young staff providing enjoyment, fun and a safe atmosphere for your kids who attend our playground programs.
• We are your Bylaw Officers.
• We are your Programmers for arts, culture, parks, and recreation.
• We are part of your GIS, drafting and IT teams behind the scenes.
• We issue your business licenses, demolition permits, utility applications, and landfill permits as well as many others.
• We are the clerical staff that provide any and all administrative support, not only to the City, but to the residents of Prince Albert.
• We are the record keepers.
• We are the staff that help grieving families with the burial of a loved one; funeral homes with arrangements, and work with monument companies to make sure that your loved one is memorialized within the South Hill Cemetery.
• We are the ones that answer all your questions regarding taxes, water, financials, trees, recreation, grass, City Bylaws, garbage, streets, sewer, traffic, events, programs, bus routes and many of the other countless inquiries that we receive on a daily basis.
• We are the ones providing the payroll for all City Of Prince Albert employees, ensuring that the pay you depend on is delivered on time.
• We are your go to for all program registration and help,
• We are the ones on the front line – the ones providing experience and information to better improve processes and services that help ensure that the City is thriving and moving forward with the utmost efficiency.
• We are your guest service attendants and the working wheels behind the scenes at the EA Rawlinson Centre.
• We are the information keepers and providers for staff and public alike.
• We watch over you and your children at the Kinsmen Skateboard Park.
• We are the ones providing administrative support from the City to outside organizations to help ensure that large city events like the Downtown Street Fair and PA Winter Festival are successful.
• We process auto withdrawal payments so your water bills & tax notices are paid with ease.
• We inspect your homes and properties.
• We collect, sort and process all mail for every City facility.
• We work with local sports groups to facilitate their programs on our fields.
• We assist in the administering of grants which help local organizations throughout Prince Albert.
• We provide programming at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.
• We generate, print and mail out communication to the residents of Prince Albert.
• We administer programs to assist property owners like the Anti-graffiti Program and the Skunk Removal Program.
• We are the oil for the all the moving parts.
